Kingfisher Drive Slipway – Sedgefield
The Kingfisher Drive Slipway is situated in Sedgefield next to the lagoon and is a beautiful place to go sight seeing on the waters. The waters are most of the times very calm and relaxing. There are lots of bird life that dwell in this area like the Fish Eagle. You can hear them calling at each other as they soar the skies. You can also take your boats out for fishing, as this is also a good spot to throw your line.

One can launch canoes, and small boats from the boat launch at the bottom of the hill on Kingfisher Drive. There is space to park your vehicle most of the time (except maybe in high season) and there are also ablution blocks there. However, please remember SAFETY should always be taken seriously when you’re out on the water.
At the Slipway in Sedgefield, there are bathroom facilities and benches that overview that waters which is perfect for sunsets. The slipway is also minutes away from the beach, so you can enjoy the waves as well. The lagoon can either be enjoyed on foot, walking alongside the water, breathing in the fresh air. You can fish from the sides of the water or from the boat. The best time to go fishing at the lagoon is in early mornings.
