The Garden Route Botanical Gardens has a beautiful bird hide here, in George! It it situated on the historical dam, hidden between the bushes so that you can get as close to the wildlife as possible. It is surely a peaceful and breath taking activity to appreciate and to enjoy. The bird hide allows you to quietly sit among the Garden Route’s flora and fauna, and the significance of our local biodiversity and its role in providing sustainability for future generations. There are many birds and other small creatures to spot and value their beauty. There is so much that can be learned about plant and wildlife, here at the botanical gardens!
Enterance fee is R20 pp and children under the age of 12 years is free.
A few birds that can be spotted are, the African Rail, Black Crake, Half-Collared Kingfisher, Black-Crowned Night-Heron, African Paradise-Flycatcher and many more!
