Wilderness Beach is the main beach for Wilderness and is is ideal for the family. It is very spacious so there is always enough spots for everyone! The beach is absolutely beautiful and goes on for kilometers. This beach is good for fishing, kitesurfing and swimming. But always remember to swim with caution and be safe, as there are not always life guards to keep an eye out. There are dangerous sea currents at times so just be sure to stay safe.
Wilderness beach is also known for many dolphin and whale sightings! So keep a look out, you might be lucky and spot a few. Unfortunately no pets are welcome on the main beach, but there are spots further along that allows dogs. There are bathroom facilities and showers to rinse off all the sand before returning home. There are also braai facilities on the side of the beach to enjoy. It is indecent condition and has lots of shady spots as well. But no fires are aloud on the beach itself. So please be respectful and leave it tidy for everyone else to enjoy.
There are ice-cream stands as well, so you can enjoy something sweet and refreshing while strolling on the beach. They also have a chip n dip stand if you feel like something to nibble on. If you want to grab a meal or relax with a cold beverage, you cold always stop at Beach House on your way out. It is very close to the beach and has a beautiful view of the ocean. The Milkwood village is also in Wilderness, and has many little shops to go look at, as well as restaurants if you want to grab a lunch.
