Sedgefield has a beautiful beach that connects with the lagoon. The mouth is a very popular spot for locals to spend the day for many reasons. It is fairly safe, great for fishing, spacious and a great swimming spot. Because of the mouth, you don’t have to swim in the beach waves but instead, you can swim in the fresh calmer water.
In some respects one needs to be careful because we have regular occurrences of rip tides and we only have full-time life guards on the beach during the Christmas holidays.
Here are lots of rocks to climb and explore that runs along the beach and lagoon, where you can get great views from the beach and the natural beauty around it. You can take along with your fishing rods to throw your line in either at the beach or at the lagoons side. Just remember to take with your fishing license and please follow the fishing regulations.
There is also another great fishing spot in Sedgefield at Gericke’s Point, also worth going to.
There are bathroom facilities available and in season time, they have ice-cream stands for a refreshing snack on a hot day.
