The Suiderkruis Beach in Great-Brak is the most popular beach in this area. This is because of all the natural beauty that flows around it. There is a picnic spot with braai facilities and is walking distance from the river and the mouth, so there is plenty to see.
The beach has a huge parking area, which is great for in season times so parking is easy to find. There are bathroom facilities available with showers to rinse off your sandy toes afterwards. It is also a great Fishing spot, just remember your fishing license and please follow the fishing regulations. There is a big sign that indicates the fishing rules. For those who have furry friends, there is no sign that forbids dogs from being on the beach. If you bring your dog with, keep him on a leash and clean up after him.
Enjoy this beautiful area and take with your camera and binoculars. There are plenty of birds to see and admire at the Suiderkruis Beach. There have even been Flamingos spotted walking around in the river waters. So keep an eye open as there are just a few of them.
