Gericke’s Point is located in Sedgefield and has a fishing spot that is well known to fishers in the area. To get to Gericke’s Point, you can walk from Swartvlei Beach. You can take a nice long stroll to Gerickes Point, preferably during low tide. It is safer and easier to get there and back, and it’s better to go fishing when it’s low tide. The walk is about 20min long from Swartvlei Beach to Gericke’s Point and lots of sea shells to pick up along the way. Along this beach walk you’ll get so see some fascinating sea life and also some of the highest fossil dunes in South Africa.

Absolutely breath taking and lots to see. The best time to snorkel in the tidal pools is during the spring low tide. This is when the water is the clearest and it is similar to swimming in an enclosed aquarium. The tidal pools are ideal for beginners and underwater photography with many of the colorful marine life living under the overhanging rock shelves.
Gericke’s Point in Sedgefield is the ideal fishing spot because it has lots of fish that surrounds it like, Black Musselcracker, Kob, Garrick and Galjoen.
