In my house we have 3 dogs and 3 cats and these are my children that I love dearly. Some might even know that 2 of our dogs and 2 of our cats are adopted from Oudtshoorn Dogs in Need and they bring us so much joy. \n. \nBut what many of you maybe don’t know is that ODIN is a non-profit organisation that runs on donations from the community. And they need our help. With +- 200 adult dogs (and the numbers keep rising) to feed\, care\, medicate\, keep warm and give love too are their hands full. This is not to mention the huge influx of puppies added to the list. Then there is the education section as well\, where they go into the communities to educate people on the proper care for animals. They are constantly helping the community with care for the animals\, and assisting the less fortunate with medical assistance. \n. \nNo matter the weather they are out there helping all these animals. The staff wear out there gumboots in the rainy muddy water getting to the kennels with food. The cattery is often flooded in rainy weather. But they do not let this get to them\, they push on and always find a way to help animals in need. The transport needs to be maintained\, petrol needs to be in the bakkies to get to outreaches. The daily costs are high but the reward of seeing the animals healthy and happy\, not to mention the joy these animals give to there forever home peoples is amazing.\nSo as for me I would like to give back where I can. The single “”Proud Mary””\, backed with “”Born on the Bayou””\, reached No. 2 on the national Billboard chart. During April 1969\, “”Bad Moon Rising”” backed with “”Lodi””\, was released and peaked at No. 2 in the US. It promises to be a fun-filled celebration of Portuguese culture\, music and cuisine.\nMossel Bay is known historically as the place where Bartolomeu Dias set foot on African soil in 1488. ReedValley hosts the Olà Portugal Festival every year over Easter Weekend and again in December to celebrate this proud heritage.\nOn the eve of the 17th of June\, guests will be transported to the cobbled streets of Lisbon for One Night in Portugal at ReedValley. This very special event will feature a performance by Cape Town’s Portuguese dance band Kanimambo – this 7-piece live band offers a unique and diverse sound that will make you want to mambo!\nNo Portuguese-inspired event would be complete without outstanding food which is why ReedValley has invited international Portuguese chefs\, also chef Cello Santos\, to prepare special Portuguese cuisine for their guests alongside ReedValley executive chef Michelle de Jager\, who has placed third in the National Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Jeune Chefs Competition.\nThe event further serves as a fundraiser and an auction will take place on the evening too!
