The story of a woman at the opera - If Richard Gere could select a watch for Julia Roberts in the opera scene in the movie, Pretty Woman, it would have been an Ebel Watch. Ebel is first and foremost the story of a woman, Alice Lévy, who founded the brand with her husband Eugène Blum. Their combined initials gave rise to this luxury and sought after brand. Through the years Ebel has distinguished itself by the beauty of its feminine watches.

A desirable women’s stainless steel Ebel Beluga watch, featuring 36 diamonds of 1.692 carat, will be one of the items to be auctioned at the 7th annual Gourmet and Gourmand Event hosted by the Carpe Diem School in George this coming Saturday evening. Michel Nunes of D’ Amato Jewelers donated the watch. This local Jeweler was also the generous sponsor of the elegant Tanzanite neckpiece that was auctioned at last year’s event.

Apart from the auction, guests will be treated by a dinner prepared by 19 top Garden Route restaurants while guest artist, André Schwartz, entertain them with songs, stories and hits from musicals. Dinners, exclusive accommodation and activities at various destinations in and around the Garden Route, Klein Karoo up to Botswana and Malawi, forms part of the lots that will be auctioned throughout the evening.

Experience the Chobe River in Botswana on board the luxury houseboat, the Chobe Princess, and Nkwichi Lodge on Lake Niassa, with the compliments of the Mantis Collection. Enjoy dinner at various restaurants like Pomodoro’s, Flava Café and Salina’s in Wildernis. Sit down to a fine dining menu and stay over at Serendipity.
