'n "wind on Leader" van minimum 1.33mm.
*Goeie tyd is om vis te vang is Skemer tot vroegoggend.

Tackle Shack - Mosselbay

People have long since found shelter in this cave: Artefacts found here date back eighty thousand years.Also known as Bat's Cave this name was given by occupation of the area when thousands of bats still lived there.The roof of the Cave is over 10m high, it is 12m deep and 22 metres wide at its mouth. This is a superb lookout point.

This structure was erected in 1902. The building was also used as a furniture factory and garage for motor repairs. The building is still in a very good state of repair and the solid wooden pillars render a special atmosphere to this edifice.
On the lower level the “touch tank” and aquarium enables visitors and school groups to actively learn about sea life and the creatures along South Africa’s shoreline. A “man and mollusc” exhibition portrays the history of the use of shells by man.

St Blaize Lighthouse Mossel Bay is open for tours throughout the year. 10:00am to 3:00pm The use of light beacons or fires to guide ships dates back to 600 BC. Fires were used on Robben Island before Greenpoint Lighthouse was erected in 1824. St Blaize lighthouse was commissioned in l864. Today all lighthouses along the coasts of South Africa are fully automated, except for only two manned lighthouses, of which St Blaize is one, still operating at dangerous spots.
