George Arts Theatre in George was built in 1905 as the first girls' school. In 1968 it was bought by the George Society of Arts and converted into a theatre, the first production held in April 1969.

Social evenings are often held on a regular basis and consist of play readings, music and dance excerpts, quizzes, story telling and many other theatre related items. A number of full length productions are held throughout the year and every other December the Society’s pantomime is one of the town’s most popular holiday attractions. The Arts Theatre is also a popular venue for many productions given by both national and international artists

The Sedgefield golf club is a 3 year old Short course, and offers a good challenge to both lower and higher level handicap golfers. With 4 water hazards and numerous bunkers the course was designed to challenge all.
The golf course is situated on the N2 directly outside Sedgefield. Enjoy a game of golf with the amazing mountain range and Swartlvlei Lake in the background.

After a good round of golf, nothing beats a really refreshing drink at the nearest "19th hole" where you can discuss all those missed approach shots and solve Ernie's putting problems!

Sedge Links Golf Club also offers a sport on TV where you can watch your favourite sporting events, or you can choose to absorb some sun and get a bit of fresh air on the wooden deck. The bar offers a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic refreshments, including cocktails, whisky, beer and always a wonderful array of wines.

The Knysna Old Gaol Art Gallery was founded and is run by the Knysna Arts & Crafts Society - a non profit organization. The aim behind the gallery is to provide local artists an opportunity to display their work, a new exhibition shows every 2-4 weeks.

Malachi Smith, with a career stretching over fifty years, is one of the most versatile living artists in the world today. He is best known for his African Sunsets, which has a unique luminescence , and his African landscapes, especially the Acacia Tortilis thorn trees (with flat top foliage) and the life-like rocks of Limpopo. Not to forget the internationally acclaimed "Annie" series that have grabbed the hearts of so many.
He has also painted in Israel, the Greek Ilse, the Cotswolds in the UK, Namibia and Venice in Italy. He has exibited in the Superdome, New Orleans, and his paintings have been exported to most countries in the world.
He has written fifteen books and is busy on his sixteenth, putting to paper the thoughts and wisdom collected over a study period of forty years. He is in the process of retiring to his writing.
The vehicle of his retirement is a beautiful range of prints collected over the past 50 years. These are called "giclees" and are individually printed on genuine canvas, signed and highlighted by the artist, making them a once-off collector's item. This has replaced the previous "signed and numbered" prints in collector's value as these are uniquely individual. A very exciting new range is being launched which combines the freedom of an abstract with conventional realism so creating the most amazing imagery to please the eye as well as the soul.
Also new is an amazing range of greeting cards that are signed by the artist and are . . . oh so suiteable for framing, some bookmarks depicting scenes painted by the artist, and little cards combining painted scenes and sayings for every wit and occasion.
This truly is Art of Africa by Malachi Smith...

Conferencing Venue Sedgefield

Situated in The Garden Route, Pine Lake Marina offers a conference venue with some spectacular views, which shows off some of the best the area has to offer.
The conferencing venue can accommodate 200 people (or slightly more depending on layout) and we can provide for all your food and beverage needs via our excellent on-site restaurant - Pinella Restaurant. The venue boasts an open fire place, should you wish to host a ‘winter conference’ as well as a cocktail/coffee bar.
There is also of course accommodation available, which means that the attendees do not need to drive long-distance straight afterwards.

The venue offers all the professional amenities for all your audio-visual requirements including, excellent sounds system, big screen with projector, microphones, video camera, internet access and DSTV – everything you would need to host a successful event. Pine Lake Marina is situated close to George Airport and a shuttle service for guests can be arranged.

Why not be in the forefront of staff care by offering 'Family Conferences'? – Stay with us here...instead of reimbursing transport fare, why not upgrade your staff member's chalet size and allow him to bring along his family.
